Demos Shakarian was born in Armenia, and escaped the holocaust due to a warning from a Pentecostal prophet whom God had raised up to warn the nation of disaster that would come upon them. The Shakarian family heeded the words of the prophet and fled to America where Demos grew up in the Pentecostal Church. He gave his heart to God as a young man and experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit in 1926 at the age of thirteen.
God prospered Shakarian and his family in their dairy farm, one of the largest private dairies in the world. Over the years, Shakarian supported the work of traveling revivalist preachers. In 1951, after helping set up Oral Roberts’ Los Angeles crusade, Demos told Roberts of his belief that God was leading him to start a group called the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International (FGBMFI). Roberts agreed to attend the first meeting of the group, and he prayed an anointed prayer that called for this group to be a mighty force for the spread of the gospel.
Shakarian experienced a year of frustration until, in a night of prayer, God gave him a vision of the work God would do in the world through this group. As he led the meeting, God would direct him to the individuals he should call upon to give testimony. As businessmen told the story of how God was working in their lives and businesses, many of their friends were converted and the goal of sharing Christ in an organization of businessmen was realized.

The vision is based upon a series of prophetic messages that occurred over a period of time and confirmed by the literal vision of God, given to a wealthy Armenian American diary farmer named Demos Shakarian.

We are a vast global movement of laymen being used mightily by God to bring this last great harvest of souls through the outpourings of God’s Holy Spirit, before the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ordinary men doing extra-ordinary things. We are the happiest people on earth.

Our ladies are also members and play very important roles. Our ladies are essentially our backbone and support by which we excel in all that we do. We can not imagine doing it alone. They are always there to take up the battle especially spiritually and lending every physical assistance to make the Fellowship complete. These ladies are our wives and single ladies who are members of the Fellowship. You can become one too!

With a passion and zeal for the souls of men and the expansion of the work of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International – Nigeria, the then Nigeria National President – Arc Ifeanyi Odedo and the National Executive Council in the first NEC meeting of 2018 approved the creations of the South South 4 District and the appointment of the now late Dcn Festus Nwokafor as the first District Coordinator. In turn, the SS4 District Coordinator Dcn Festus Nwokafor set up his District Executives to support his work, appointed new National Directors, Field Representatives and Committees and their Chairmen. The work had begun in earnest and the rest is evident in the present position of the District. The present District Coordinator is Arc Dr Chuma Okereke who has taken the work to a whole new level
